NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
ATF-5: Transcriptional activator which binds the cAMP response element (CRE) (consensus: 5'-GTGACGT[AC][AG]-3'), a sequence present in many viral and cellular promoters and blocks the differentiation of neuroprogenitor cells into neurons. Its transcriptional activity is enhanced by CCND3 and slightly inhibited by CDK4. Belongs to the bZIP family.
Protein type: DNA-binding
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.3
Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; transcription factor complex; cytoplasm
Molecular Function: protein binding; heat shock protein binding; transcription corepressor activity
Biological Process: circadian rhythm; regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; transcription, DNA-dependent; olfactory bulb interneuron development; multicellular organism growth; negative regulation of astrocyte differentiation; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; negative regulation of apoptosis; post-embryonic development

Product Notes
The ATF5 atf5 (Catalog #AAA6275887) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ATF5, CT (ATF5, ATFX, Cyclic AMP-dependent transcription factor ATF-5, Activating transcription factor 5, Transcription factor ATFx) (APC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ATF5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:100-500 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ATF5 atf5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ATF5, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
