NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of a multienzyme complex that functions in mediating the attachment of amino acids to their cognate tRNAs. The encoded protein ligates L-aspartate to tRNA(Asp). Mutations in this gene have been found in patients showing hypomyelination with brainstem and spinal cord involvement and leg spasticity. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Uniprot Description
DARS: Catalyzes the specific attachment of an amino acid to its cognate tRNA in a 2 step reaction: the amino acid (AA) is first activated by ATP to form AA-AMP and then transferred to the acceptor end of the tRNA. Belongs to the class-II aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase family.
Protein type: Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase; EC 6.1.1.12; Ligase; Translation; Translation regulation
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q21.3
Cellular Component: aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase multienzyme complex; cytoplasm; cytosol; membrane
Molecular Function: aminoacylase activity; aspartate-tRNA ligase activity; ATP binding; protein binding; RNA binding
Biological Process: aspartyl-tRNA aminoacylation; protein complex assembly; translation; tRNA aminoacylation for protein translation

Product Notes
The DARS dars (Catalog #AAA2033853) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Polyclonal Antibody to Aspartyl tRNA Synthetase (DARS) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Aspartyl tRNA Synthetase can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Formalin/Paraffin, ELISA (EIA). Western blotting: 1:50-400 Immunohistochemistry in formalin fixed frozen section: 1:50-500 Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay: 1:100-1:5000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DARS dars for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Aspartyl tRNA Synthetase, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
