NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the AID/APOBEC family of polynucleotide (deoxy)cytidine deaminases, which convert cytidine to uridine. Other AID/APOBEC family members are involved in mRNA editing, somatic hypermutation and recombination of immunoglobulin genes, and innate immunity to retroviral infection. Biological Process: mRNA processing
Product Notes
The APOBEC4 apobec4 (Catalog #
AAA421576) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat anti-APOBEC4 Antibody reacts with Expected from sequence similarity: Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's APOBEC4 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA). Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 32000. Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 48kDa band in Human Bone Marrow lysates after 0. 03ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 41.6kDa according to NP_982279.1. The 48kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the APOBEC4 apobec4 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: QTKRNPNTKA QE.
It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of
"APOBEC4, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of
the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always
suggest centrifuging these vials
to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to
opening. Please be advised that
certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an
additional dry ice fee may also be
required.
