Related Product Information for anti-APLNR antibody
Apelin (APLN) is a recently discovered adipokine involved in the regulation of various metabolic functions. APLN and APLNR are present in human ovarian cells and APLN increases IGF1-induced steroidogenesis in granulosa cells through an increase in HSD3B protein expression and activation of the MAPK3/1 and Akt pathways. Therefore, APLN and APLNR may play a role in human follicular development and the pathogenesis of PCOS. APLN and APLNR genes may play a role as susceptibility markers for hypertension in a group of Mexican-Mestizo patients.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the G protein-coupled receptor gene family. The encoded protein is related to the angiotensin receptor, but is actually an apelin receptor that inhibits adenylate cyclase activity and plays a counter-regulatory role against the pressure action of angiotensin II by exerting hypertensive effect. It functions in the cardiovascular and central nervous systems, in glucose metabolism, in embryonic and tumor angiogenesis and as a human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) coreceptor. Two transcript variants resulting from alternative splicing have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2009]

Uniprot Description

AGTRL1: Receptor for apelin coupled to G proteins that inhibit adenylate cyclase activity. Alternative coreceptor with CD4 for HIV-1 infection; may be involved in the development of AIDS dementia. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein type: GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral; Membrane protein, multi-pass; Receptor, GPCR

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q12

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: G-protein coupled receptor activity; receptor activity

Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; regulation of body fluid levels; heart development; gastrulation

Product Notes

The APLNR aplnr (Catalog #AAA8103580) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-APJ Receptor/APLNR Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's APJ Receptor/APLNR can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoprecipitation (IP). IP: 5-10uL/mg of lysate. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the APLNR aplnr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "APJ Receptor/APLNR, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
