Related Product Information for anti-AGR2 antibody
AG-2 (Anterior gradient protein 2; also AGR2, GOB4 and HPC8) is an 18-21kD member of the PDI family of enzymes. It is expressed in secretory cell types, such as prostate epithelium, small intestine goblet, Paneth and enteroendocrine cells, and multiple carcinoma cell types. Although AG-2 possesses a signal sequence, it appears to be rarely secreted, instead being found in the ER due the presence of a KTEL ER retention signal at its C-terminus. AG-2 forms transient disulfide linkages with molecules destined for secretion, possibly aiding protein folding. Mature human AG-2 is 155aa in length (aa21-175). Cys81 is presumed to participate in intermolecular bond formation. There is one potential alternative start site 20aa upstream of the standard start site.

Uniprot Description

AGR2: Required for MUC2 post-transcriptional synthesis and secretion. May play a role in the production of mucus by intestinal cells. Proto-oncogene that may play a role in cell migration, cell differentiation and cell growth. Interacts with LYPD3 and DAG1 (alphaDAG1). Interacts with MUC2; disulfide-linked. Expressed strongly in trachea, lung, stomach, colon, prostate and small intestine. Expressed weakly in pituitary gland, salivary gland, mammary gland, bladder, appendix, ovary, fetal lung, uterus, pancreas, kidney, fetal kidney, testis, placenta, thyroid gland and in estrogen receptor (ER)-positive breast cancer cell lines. Belongs to the AGR family.

Protein type: Oncoprotein; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7p21.3

Cellular Component: mitochondrion; endoplasmic reticulum; extracellular region

Molecular Function: protein binding

Product Notes

The AGR2 agr2 (Catalog #AAA627087) is an Antibody produced from Sheep and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anterior Gradient 2 (Anterior Gradient Protein 2 Homolog, AG-2, hAG-2, HPC8, Secreted Cement Gland Protein XAG-2 Homolog, AGR2, AG2, UNQ515/PRO1030) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Anterior Gradient 2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml Immunohistochemistry: 5-15ug/ml ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AGR2 agr2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Anterior Gradient 2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
