Related Product Information for anti-ANAPC5 antibody
This gene encodes a tetratricopeptide repeat-containing component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a large E3 ubiquitin ligase that controls cell cycle progression by targeting a number of cell cycle regulators such as B-type cyclins for 26S proteasome-mediated degradation through ubiquitination. The encoded protein is required for the proper ubiquitination function of APC/C and for the interaction of APC/C with transcription coactivators. It also interacts with polyA binding protein and represses internal ribosome entry site-mediated translation. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. These differences cause translation initiation at a downstream AUG and result in a shorter protein (isoform b), compared to isoform a.

Uniprot Description

APC5: Component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a cell cycle-regulated E3 ubiquitin ligase that controls progression through mitosis and the G1 phase of the cell cycle. The APC/C complex acts by mediating ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of target proteins: it mainly mediates the formation of 'Lys-11'-linked polyubiquitin chains and, to a lower extent, the formation of 'Lys-48'- and 'Lys-63'-linked polyubiquitin chains. Belongs to the APC5 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cell cycle regulation; Ubiquitin conjugating system

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q24.31

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; anaphase-promoting complex; nucleus; cytosol

Molecular Function: protein phosphatase binding

Biological Process: positive regulation of ubiquitin-protein ligase activity during mitotic cell cycle; mitosis; negative regulation of ubiquitin-protein ligase activity during mitotic cell cycle; regulation of ubiquitin-protein ligase activity during mitotic cell cycle; cell division; anaphase-promoting complex-dependent proteasomal ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolic process; mitotic cell cycle spindle assembly checkpoint; mitotic cell cycle

Product Notes

The ANAPC5 anapc5 (Catalog #AAA6273436) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ANAPC5, ID (ANAPC5, APC5, Anaphase-promoting complex subunit 5, Cyclosome subunit 5) (FITC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ANAPC5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS), FLISA, Western Blot (WB). FC/FACS: 1:10-50 FLISA: 1:1,000 WB: 1:100-500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ANAPC5 anapc5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ANAPC5, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
