Rabbit Alpha-actin Polyclonal Antibody | anti-ACTC1 antibody
Anti-Alpha-actin Antibody
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of Alpha-actin expression in mouse heart (A), mouse lung (B) whole cell lysates.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Immunohistochemical analysis of Alpha-actin staining in mouse skeletal muscle formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Actins are highly conserved proteins that are involved in various types of cell motility. Polymerization of globular actin (G-actin) leads to a structural filament (F-actin) in the form of a two-stranded helix. Each actin can bind to four others. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the actin family which is comprised of three main groups of actin isoforms, alpha, beta, and gamma. The alpha actins are found in muscle tissues and are a major constituent of the contractile apparatus. Defects in this gene have been associated with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (IDC) and familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (FHC). [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
ACTC1: Actins are highly conserved proteins that are involved in various types of cell motility and are ubiquitously expressed in all eukaryotic cells. Polymerization of globular actin (G-actin) leads to a structural filament (F-actin) in the form of a two-stranded helix. Each actin can bind to 4 others. Belongs to the actin family.

Product Notes
The ACTC1 actc1 (Catalog #AAA8248152) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Alpha-actin Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Bovine, Chicken and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Alpha-actin can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB: 1/500 - 1/2000; Immunohistochemistry: 1/50 - 1/200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ACTC1 actc1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Alpha-actin, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
