Related Product Information for anti-ALDH3B1 antibody
The aldehyde dehydrogenases are a family of isozymes that may play a major role in the detoxification of aldehydes generated by alcohol metabolism and lipid peroxidation. This particular gene spans about 20 kb of genomic DNA and is composed of 9 coding exons. The gene is highly expressed in kidney and lung. The functional significance of this gene as well as the cellular localization of its product are presently unknown. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Uniprot Description

ALDH3B1: Oxidizes medium and long chain saturated and unsaturated aldehydes. Metabolizes also benzaldehyde. Low activity towards acetaldehyde and 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetaldehyde. May not metabolize short chain aldehydes. May use both NADP(+) and NAD(+) as cofactors. May have a protective role against the cytotoxicity induced by lipid peroxidation. Belongs to the aldehyde dehydrogenase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Amino Acid Metabolism - tyrosine; Carbohydrate Metabolism - glycolysis and gluconeogenesis; EC 1.2.1.5; Oxidoreductase; Xenobiotic Metabolism - drug metabolism - cytochrome P450; Xenobiotic Metabolism - metabolism by cytochrome P450; Amino Acid Metabolism - histidine; Amino Acid Metabolism - phenylalanine

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q13

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; plasma membrane; cytosol; vesicle

Molecular Function: aldehyde dehydrogenase [NAD(P)+] activity; 3-chloroallyl aldehyde dehydrogenase activity

Biological Process: aldehyde catabolic process; ethanol catabolic process; alcohol metabolic process; lipid metabolic process

Product Notes

The ALDH3B1 aldh3b1 (Catalog #AAA4758859) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ALDH3B1 Rabbit pAb reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ALDH3B1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P). WB: 1:200-1:1000 IHC-P: 1:25-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ALDH3B1 aldh3b1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ALDH3B1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
