Rabbit ALBUMIN Polyclonal Antibody | anti-ALB antibody
RABBIT ANTI BOVINE ALBUMIN
Rabbit anti Bovine albumin antibody recognises bovine albumin (BSA), a soluble protein which constitutes approximately one half of blood serum protein. BSA functions primarily as a carrier protein for steroids, fatty acids, and thyroid hormones and plays a role in stabilizing extracellular fluid volume.
BSA is synthesized in the liver as preproalbumin, which has an N-terminal peptide removed before it is released by the rough endoplasmic reticulum as proalbumin. In turn, proalbumin is cleaved in the Golgi vesicles to produce albumin, which is secreted into the blood stream.
BSA is used as a nutrient in cell cultures, as an enzyme stabilizer during DNA digestion, and as a diluent or blocking agent in immunohistochemistry and ELISAs.

Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended.

Uniprot Description
albumin: Serum albumin, the main protein of plasma, has a good binding capacity for water, Ca(2+), Na(+), K(+), fatty acids, hormones, bilirubin and drugs. Its main function is the regulation of the colloidal osmotic pressure of blood. Major zinc transporter in plasma, typically binds about 80% of all plasma zinc

Product Notes
The ALB alb (Catalog #AAA222821) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's ALBUMIN can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry - Frozen (IHC-Fr), ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). IHC-Fr: 1/1000 - 1/5000 ELISA: 1/20000 - 1/100000 WB: 1/1000 - 1/2000 Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ALB alb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ALBUMIN, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
