Related Product Information for anti-AKR1E2 antibody
AKR1E2 catalyzes the NADPH-dependent reduction of 1,5-anhydro-D-fructose (AF) to 1,5-anhydro-D-glucitol. Can also catalyze the reduction of various aldehydes and quinones (By similarity). Has low NADPH-dependent reductase activity towards 9,10-phenanthrenequinone (in vitro).

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the aldo-keto reductase superfamily. Members in this family are characterized by their structure (evolutionarily highly conserved TIM barrel) and function (NAD(P)H-dependent oxido-reduction of carbonyl groups). Transcripts of this gene have been reported in specimens of human testis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2012]

Uniprot Description

AKR1CL2: Catalyzes the NADPH-dependent reduction of 1,5-anhydro- D-fructose (AF) to 1,5-anhydro-D-glucitol. Can also catalyze the reduction of various aldehydes and quinones. Has low NADPH-dependent reductase activity towards 9,10- phenanthrenequinone (in vitro). Belongs to the aldo/keto reductase family. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Oxidoreductase; EC 1.1.1.263

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10p15.1

Cellular Component: cytoplasm

Product Notes

The AKR1E2 akr1e2 (Catalog #AAA6272589) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AKR1E2, CT (AKR1E2, AKR1CL2, AKRDC1, 1,5-anhydro-D-fructose reductase, Aldo-keto reductase family 1 member C-like protein 2, Aldo-keto reductase family 1 member E2, LoopADR, Testis-specific protein) (FITC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's AKR1E2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:100-500 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AKR1E2 akr1e2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AKR1E2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
