Related Product Information for anti-AKAP12 antibody
The A-kinase anchor proteins (AKAPs) are a group of structurally diverse proteins, which have the common function of binding to the regulatory subunit of protein kinase A (PKA) and confining the holoenzyme to discrete locations within the cell. This gene encodes a member of the AKAP family. The encoded protein is expressed in endothelial cells, cultured fibroblasts, and osteosarcoma cells. It associates with protein kinases A and C and phosphatase, and serves as a scaffold protein in signal transduction. This protein and RII PKA colocalize at the cell periphery. This protein is a cell growth-related protein. Antibodies to this protein can be produced by patients with myasthenia gravis. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms.

Uniprot Description

AKAP12: a scaffold protein that contains 3 conserved PKA binding motifs. Suppresses podosome formation, inhibits RhoA and Cdc42 activity, and inhibits v-Src-induced oncogenic growth in NIH3T3. May inhibit Src-induced oncogenesis by reestablishing actin-based non-invasive cytoskeletal architecture.

Product Notes

The AKAP12 akap12 (Catalog #AAA9403093) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AKAP12 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's AKAP12 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Western blotting: 1:200-1:1000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AKAP12 akap12 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AKAP12, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
