Related Product Information for anti-AGTR1 antibody
AGTR1 Antibody: Angiotensin II is a potent vasopressor hormone and a primary regulator of aldosterone secretion that acts through at least two types of receptors, AGTR1 and AGTR2. It is an important effector controlling blood pressure and volume in the cardiovascular system and plays a major role in the development of the mammalian kidney and urinary tract. AGTR1, the type 1 receptor, is thought to mediate the major cardiovascular effects of angiotensin II and may play a role in the generation of reperfusion arrhythmias following restoration of blood flow to ischemic or infarcted myocardium. AGTR1 has recently been found to regulate the differentiation of bone marrow-derived monocyte lineage progenitors from hematopoietic stem cells, indicating the diversity of the roles of AGTR1.

NCBI Description

Angiotensin II is a potent vasopressor hormone and a primary regulator of aldosterone secretion. It is an important effector controlling blood pressure and volume in the cardiovascular system. It acts through at least two types of receptors. This gene encodes the type 1 receptor which is thought to mediate the major cardiovascular effects of angiotensin II. This gene may play a role in the generation of reperfusion arrhythmias following restoration of blood flow to ischemic or infarcted myocardium. It was previously thought that a related gene, denoted as AGTR1B, existed; however, it is now believed that there is only one type 1 receptor gene in humans. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been reported for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]

Uniprot Description

AT1: receptor for angiotensin II. Angiotensin II is a potent vasopressor hormone and a primary regulator of aldosterone secretion. It is an important effector controlling blood pressure and volume in the cardiovascular system. Mediates the major cardiovascular effects of angiotensin II. May play role in the generation of reperfusion arrhythmias following restoration of blood flow to ischemic or infarcted myocardium. Mediates its action by association with G proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system.

Product Notes

The AGTR1 agtr1 (Catalog #AAA151548) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AGTR1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's AGTR1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC-P), Immunofluorescence (IF). AGTR1 antibody can be used for detection of AGTR1 by Western blot at 1 - 2 ug/mL. Antibody can also be used for immunohistochemistry starting at 2.5 ug/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 20 ug/mL. Antibody validated: Western Blot in mouse samples; Immunohistochemistry in mouse samples and Immunofluorescence in mouse samples. All other applications and species not yet tested. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AGTR1 agtr1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AGTR1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
