NCBI Description

ADSSL1 is a muscle isozyme of adenylosuccinate synthase (EC 6.3.4.4), which catalyzes the initial reaction in the conversion of inosine monophosphate (IMP) to adenosine monophosphate (AMP) (Sun et al., 2005 [PubMed 15786719]).[supplied by OMIM, Dec 2008]

Uniprot Description

ADSSL1: Component of the purine nucleotide cycle (PNC), which interconverts IMP and AMP to regulate the nucleotide levels in various tissues, and which contributes to glycolysis and ammoniagenesis. Catalyzes the first committed step in the biosynthesis of AMP from IMP. Belongs to the adenylosuccinate synthetase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Amino Acid Metabolism - alanine, aspartate and glutamate; Ligase; Nucleotide Metabolism - purine; EC 6.3.4.4

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q32.33

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; cytosol

Molecular Function: actin filament binding; GTPase activity; protein homodimerization activity; GTP binding; magnesium ion binding; phosphate binding; adenylosuccinate synthase activity

Biological Process: response to starvation; AMP biosynthetic process; purine ribonucleoside monophosphate biosynthetic process; response to muscle activity; nucleobase, nucleoside and nucleotide metabolic process; immune system process; IMP metabolic process; glutamine metabolic process; aspartate metabolic process; purine base metabolic process

Product Notes

The ADSSL1 adssl1 (Catalog #AAA9211396) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 96-123. The ADSSL1 Antibody (N-term) reacts with Human, mouse (Predicted Reactivity: Bovine, Pig) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ADSSL1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ADSSL1 adssl1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ADSSL1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
