Related Product Information for anti-ADK antibody
This gene an enzyme which catalyzes the transfer of the gamma-phosphate from ATP to adenosine, thereby serving as a regulator of concentrations of both extracellular adenosine and intracellular adenine nucleotides. Adenosine has widespread effects on the cardiovascular, nervous, respiratory, and immune systems and inhibitors of the enzyme could play an important pharmacological role in increasing intravascular adenosine concentrations and acting as anti-inflammatory agents. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

Uniprot Description

ADK: ATP dependent phosphorylation of adenosine and other related nucleoside analogs to monophosphate derivatives. Serves as a potential regulator of concentrations of extracellular adenosine and intracellular adenine nucleotides. Defects in ADK are the cause of hypermethioninemia due to adenosine kinase deficiency (HMAKD). A metabolic disorder characterized by global developmental delay, early-onset seizures, mild dysmorphic features, and characteristic biochemical anomalies, including persistent hypermethioninemia with increased levels of S-adenosylmethionine and S-adenosylhomocysteine. Homocysteine levels are typically normal. Belongs to the carbohydrate kinase PfkB family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The ADK adk (Catalog #AAA9406916) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ADK Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ADK can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western blotting: 1:200-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ADK adk for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ADK, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
