NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the aconitase/IPM isomerase family. It is an enzyme that catalyzes the interconversion of citrate to isocitrate via cis-aconitate in the second step of the TCA cycle. This protein is encoded in the nucleus and functions in the mitochondrion. It was found to be one of the mitochondrial matrix proteins that are preferentially degraded by the serine protease 15(PRSS15), also known as Lon protease, after oxidative modification. The Goat anti-Aconitase 2 (aa541-555) Antibody reacts with Tested: Human, Mouse, Rat, Pig; Expected from sequence similarity: Human, Mouse, Rat, Dog, Cow, Pig and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Aconitase 2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 16000. Immunohistochemistry: In paraffin embedded Human Breast shows mitochondrial staining in the epithelial cells of the ducts. Recommended concentration, 3-5ug/ml. Western Blot: Approx 90kDa band observed in Human Heart lysates, in Human, Mouse and Rat Adipose lysates and in Mouse, Rat and Pig Skeletal Muscle lysates (calculated MW of 85.4kDa according to NP_001089.1). Recommended concentration: 0.01-0.03ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ACO2 aco2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: QDTYQHPPKD SSGQH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Aconitase 2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
