anti-Human, Rat 5HT2B Receptor Polyclonal Antibody | anti-HTR2B antibody
Anti-5HT2B Receptor Antibody
Background: 5HT2B Receptor is known as HTR2B. This gene encodes one of the several different receptors for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin) that belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. Serotonin is a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. Serotonin receptors mediate many of the central and peripheral physiologic functions of serotonin, including regulation of cardiovascular functions and impulsive behavior. Population and family-based analyses of a minor allele (glutamine-to-stop substitution, designated Q20*) which blocks expression of this protein, and knockout studies in mice, suggest a role for this gene in impulsivity. However, other factors, such as elevated testosterone levels, may also be involved.

Uniprot Description
5-HT(2B): This is one of the several different receptors for 5- hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. This receptor mediates its action by association with G proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Plays a role in the regulation of impulsive behavior. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Product Notes
The HTR2B htr2b (Catalog #AAA177864) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-5HT2B Receptor Antibody reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's 5HT2B Receptor can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). Western Blot Concentration: 0.1-0.5ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the HTR2B htr2b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "5HT2B Receptor, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
