Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 degree C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months.
Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the targetprotein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation andprecipitation were observed. (Referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation.) The loss of this protein is lessthan 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

M1 and M2 isozymes of pyruvate kinase; catalyzes the conversion of ATP and pyruvate to ADP and phosphoenolpyruvate in glycolysis [RGD, Feb 2006]

Uniprot Description

PKM2: one of three rate-limiting enzymes in glycolysis. It catalyzes the transfer of a phosphate group from phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) to ADP, yielding one molecule ATP and a pyruvate molecule, which is a central metabolic intermediate that can be used as a building block or oxidized further. Overexpressed in a variety of cancers. Interacts with thyroid hormone, and thus may mediate cellular metabolic effects induced by thyroid hormones. Binds Opa protein, a bacterial outer membrane protein involved in gonococcal adherence to and invasion of human cells, suggesting a role of this protein in bacterial pathogens is. There are several mammalian isozymes of pyruvate kinase encoded by different genes. The L type predominates in liver, and the M type in muscle and brain. Two alternatively spliced human isoforms of PKM2 have been reported.

Protein type: Carbohydrate Metabolism - pyruvate; EC 2.7.1.40; Kinase, other; Carbohydrate Metabolism - glycolysis and gluconeogenesis; Nucleotide Metabolism - purine; Mitochondrial

Cellular Component: extracellular matrix; mitochondrion; cytoplasm; plasma membrane; nucleus; vesicle; myelin sheath; cilium

Molecular Function: potassium ion binding; protein binding; magnesium ion binding; ADP binding; pyruvate kinase activity; ATP binding

Biological Process: response to gravity; pyruvate biosynthetic process; organ regeneration; glycolysis; programmed cell death; skeletal muscle regeneration; glucose metabolic process; liver development; response to insulin stimulus; response to organic substance; ATP biosynthetic process; response to hypoxia; phosphorylation; response to nutrient; response to muscle inactivity

Product Notes

The PKM2 pkm (Catalog #AAA2010633) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Pyruvate Kinase, Muscle (PKM2) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PKM2 pkm for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: The target protein is fused with two N-terminal Tags, His-tag and T7-tag, its sequence is listed below. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Pyruvate Kinase, Muscle (PKM2), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
