INTENDED USE This PIN4 ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Bovine PIN4. This ELISA kit for research use only!

PRINCIPLE OF THE ASSAY PIN4 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-PIN4 antibody and an PIN4-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with PIN4-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the PIN4 concentration since PIN4 from samples and PIN4-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-PIN4 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by PIN4 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind PIN4-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The PIN4 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the parvulin subfamily of the peptidyl-prolyl cis/trans isomerase protein family. The encoded protein catalyzes the isomerization of peptidylprolyl bonds, and may play a role in the cell cycle, chromatin remodeling, and/or ribosome biogenesis. The encoded protein may play an additional role in the mitochondria. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2009]

Uniprot Description

PIN4: Isoform 1 is involved as a ribosomal RNA processing factor in ribosome biogenesis. Binds to tightly bent AT-rich stretches of double-stranded DNA. Belongs to the PpiC/parvulin rotamase family. PIN4 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative promoter.

Protein type: EC 5.2.1.8; Mitochondrial; Isomerase; Nucleolus

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: Xq13

Cellular Component: mitochondrial matrix; cytoplasm; nucleolus; spindle; nucleus

Molecular Function: peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase activity; DNA binding; double-stranded DNA binding; bent DNA binding

Biological Process: protein peptidyl-prolyl isomerization; rRNA processing

Product Notes

The Bovine PIN4 pin4 (Catalog #AAA740555) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA740555 ELISA Kit recognizes Bovine PIN4. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Peptidyl Prolyl Cis/Trans Isomerase NIMA Interacting 4 Protein, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
