Human Platelet-derived growth factor D ELISA Kit | PDGFD elisa kit
Human Platelet-derived growth factor D (PDGFD) ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate PDGF-BB in Human serum, plasma. An antibody specific for PDGF-BB has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any PDGF-BB present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for PDGF-BB is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of PDGF-BB bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the platelet-derived growth factor family. The four members of this family are mitogenic factors for cells of mesenchymal origin and are characterized by a core motif of eight cysteines, seven of which are found in this factor. This gene product only forms homodimers and, therefore, does not dimerize with the other three family members. It differs from alpha and beta members of this family in having an unusual N-terminal domain, the CUB domain. Two splice variants have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
PDGFD: Growth factor that plays an essential role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation, cell migration, survival and chemotaxis. Potent mitogen for cells of mesenchymal origin. Plays an important role in wound healing. Induces macrophage recruitment, increased interstitial pressure, and blood vessel maturation during angiogenesis. Can initiate events that lead to a mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis, including influx of monocytes and macrophages and production of extracellular matrix. Belongs to the PDGF/VEGF growth factor family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Human PDGFD pdgfd (Catalog #AAA280444) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA280444 ELISA Kit recognizes Human PDGFD. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Platelet-derived growth factor D, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
