Related Product Information for PDE10A recombinant protein
Description: Recombinant human PDE10A (71-end) was expressed by baculovirus in Sf9 insect cells using an N-terminal GST tag.
Scientific Background: PDE10A is a member of the phosphodiesterase family of proteins that play a critical role in regulating intracellular levels of cAMP and cGMP (1). PDE10A eliminates cAMP- and cGMP-mediated intracellular signaling by hydrolyzing the cyclic nucleotide to the corresponding nucleoside 5-prime monophosphate. PDE10A hydrolyzes cAMP and cGMP in transfected COS-7 cells (2). PDE10A has a 11-fold higher affinity for cGMP than cAMP and cAMP can efficiently inhibit cGMP phosphodiesterase activity of PDE10A. PDE10A is being used as a biomarker in clinical trials of gene-disease association and gene-environment interaction.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase family. It plays a role in signal transduction by regulating the intracellular concentration of cyclic nucleotides. This protein can hydrolyze both cAMP and cGMP to the corresponding nucleoside 5' monophosphate, but has higher affinity for cAMP, and is more efficient with cAMP as substrate. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]

Uniprot Description

PDE10A: Plays a role in signal transduction by regulating the intracellular concentration of cyclic nucleotides. Can hydrolyze both cAMP and cGMP, but has higher affinity for cAMP and is more efficient with cAMP as substrate. Belongs to the cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The PDE10A pde10a (Catalog #AAA515642) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Sf9 insect cells using baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is 71-end. AAA Biotech's PDE10A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, PDE Assay. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PDE10A pde10a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PDE10A, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
