3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydratase PASTICCINO 2 (PAS2) Recombinant Protein | PAS2 recombinant protein
Recombinant Arabidopsis thaliana 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydratase PASTICCINO 2 (PAS2), partial
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Protein tyrosine phosphatase-like involved in cell division and differentiation. Interacts with CDKA;1 only in its phosphorylated form, preventing dephosphorylation. Overexpression slowed down cell division in suspension cell cultures at the G2-to-M transition and early mitosis and inhibited Arabidopsis seedling growth. Localized in the cytoplasm of dividing cells but moved into the nucleus upon cell differentiation. Based on complementation of yeast mutant PAS2 has acyl-CoA dehydratase activity. It interacts with CER10, a component of the microsomal fatty acid elongase complex, suggesting a role in synthesis of VLCFAs (very long chain fatty acids).
Uniprot Description
Catalyzes the third of the four reactions of the long-chain fatty acids elongation cycle. This endoplasmic reticulum-bound enzymatic process, allows the addition of two carbons to the chain of long- and very long-chain fatty acids/VLCFAs per cycle. This enzyme catalyzes the dehydration of the 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA intermediate into trans-2,3-enoyl-CoA, within each cycle of fatty acid elongation. Thereby, it participates in the production of VLCFAs of different chain lengths that are involved in multiple biological processes as precursors of membrane lipids and lipid mediators. May be an anti-phosphatase that prevents CDKA-1 dephosphorylation and activation. Involved in the hormonal control of cell division and differentiation. Required for proliferation control of meristematic and non-meristematic cells. Negative regulator of the cell cycle.

Product Notes
The PAS2 pas2 (Catalog #AAA7094454) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli or Yeast or Baculovirus or Mammalian Cell and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydratase PASTICCINO 2 (PAS2), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
