Related Product Information for OSX elisa kit
Introduction: ELISA is a simple and highly sensitive method of analysis that allows for simultaneous and rapid quantification of a large number of samples. The assay is based on the specific recognition of the target compound (analyte/antigen) by antibodies which bind to the compound. The antigen-antibody complex is detected and measured with the aid of an enzyme-labeled antibody or antigen. Upon addition of a non-colored reagent, the enzyme produces a color reaction where the color intensity is directly or inversely proportional to the concentration of the analyte in the sample. This quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is in tended to determinate OSX concentrations in Rat serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, feces, urine and body fluids, and it is only for research!

Uniprot Description

osterix: Transcriptional activator essential for osteoblast differentiation. Binds to SP1 and EKLF consensus sequences and to other G/C-rich sequences. Defects in SP7 are the cause of osteogenesis imperfecta type 11 (OI11). A connective tissue disorder characterized by bone fragility, low bone mass, recurrent fractures, mild bone deformations, generalized osteoporosis, delayed teeth eruption, no dentinogenesis imperfecta, normal hearing, and white sclerae. Belongs to the Sp1 C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family.

Protein type: Transcription factor; DNA-binding; C2H2-type zinc finger protein

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q13.13

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: DNA binding; DEAD/H-box RNA helicase binding; metal ion binding

Biological Process: regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; osteoblast differentiation; transcription, DNA-dependent; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter

Disease: Osteogenesis Imperfecta, Type Xii

Product Notes

The Rat OSX (Catalog #AAA020109) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA020109 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat OSX. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Osterix, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
