Related Product Information for NTH recombinant protein
Description: NTH E Coli Recombinant fused with a 20 amino acid His tag at N-terminus produced in E Coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 231 amino acids (1-211a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 25.7kDa. The NTH is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Introduction: Endonuclease III (nth) is a DNA repair enzyme which has both DNA N-glycosylase activity and AP-lyase activity. The DNA N-glycosylase activity releases numerous damaged pyrimidines from DNA by cleaving the N-glycosidic bond and leaving an AP (apurinic/apyrimidinic) site. This AP-lyase activity cleaves the phosphodiester bond 3' to the AP site by a beta-elimination, thus leaving a 3'-terminal unsaturated sugar and a product with a terminal 5'-phosphate.

NCBI Description

Nth is specific for damaged pyrimidine sites, particularly Thy. [More information is available at EcoGene: EG10662]. Endonuclease III or Nth is a DNA glycosylase that recognizes pyrimidine residues damaged by ring saturation, ring fragmentation or ring contraction. [More information is available at EcoCyc: EG10662].

Uniprot Description

DNA repair enzyme that has both DNA N-glycosylase activity and AP-lyase activity. The DNA N-glycosylase activity releases various damaged pyrimidines from DNA by cleaving the N-glycosidic bond, leaving an AP (apurinic/apyrimidinic) site. The AP-lyase activity cleaves the phosphodiester bond 3' to the AP site by a beta-elimination, leaving a 3'-terminal unsaturated sugar and a product with a terminal 5'-phosphate.

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Endonuclease-III, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
