Preparation and Storage
Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 degree C for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 degree C for 12 months.
Stability Test: The thermal stability is described by the loss rate of the targetprotein. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 degree C for 48h, and no obvious degradation andprecipitation were observed. (Referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calculated by the Arrhenius equation.) The loss of this protein is lessthan 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a secreted protein that belongs to the family of natriuretic peptides. Its precursor protein is processed to generate the active mature peptide. The mature peptide is a cardiac hormone that plays a role in ventricular remodeling as well as blood pressure regulation. Mice lacking this gene exhibit cardiac fibrosis. In humans this gene is associated with congestive heart failure, low bone-mineral density and postmenopausal osteoporosis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2013]

Uniprot Description

NPPB: Cardiac hormone which may function as a paracrine antifibrotic factor in the heart. Also plays a key role in cardiovascular homeostasis through natriuresis, diuresis, vasorelaxation, and inhibition of renin and aldosterone secretion. Specifically binds and stimulates the cGMP production of the NPR1 receptor. Binds the clearance receptor NPR3. Belongs to the natriuretic peptide family.

Protein type: Hormone; Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted

Cellular Component: extracellular space; protein complex; perinuclear region of cytoplasm; cytoplasm; extracellular region; nucleus

Molecular Function: peptide hormone receptor binding; hormone activity

Biological Process: cGMP biosynthetic process; negative regulation of smooth muscle cell proliferation; regulation of blood pressure; negative regulation of systemic arterial blood pressure; negative regulation of cell growth; regulation of blood vessel size

Product Notes

The BNP nppb (Catalog #AAA2009514) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Brain Natriuretic Peptide (BNP) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunoprecipitation (IP). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the BNP nppb for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: The target protein is fused with N-terminal His-Tag, its sequence is listed below. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Brain Natriuretic Peptide (BNP), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
