Related Product Information for NGFR recombinant protein
NGFR, also known as tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 16, is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily with a widespread pattern of expression in tissues such as the brain, liver, lung, and muscle. It plays a role in the regulation of the translocation of GLUT4 to the cell surface in adipocytes and skeletal muscle cells in response to insulin, probably by regulating RAB31 activity, and thereby contributes to the regulation of insulin-dependent glucose uptake. They are low affinity receptor which can bind to NGF, BDNF, NT-3, and NT-4. It can mediate cell survival as well as cell death of neural cells. Recombinant human NGFR, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.

NCBI Description

Nerve growth factor receptor contains an extracellular domain containing four 40-amino acid repeats with 6 cysteine residues at conserved positions followed by a serine/threonine-rich region, a single transmembrane domain, and a 155-amino acid cytoplasmic domain. The cysteine-rich region contains the nerve growth factor binding domain. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Plays a role in the regulation of the translocation of GLUT4 to the cell surface in adipocytes and skeletal muscle cells in response to insulin, probably by regulating RAB31 activity, and thereby contributes to the regulation of insulin-dependent glucose uptake (). Low affinity receptor which can bind to NGF, BDNF, NT-3, and NT-4. Can mediate cell survival as well as cell death of neural cells. Necessary for the circadian oscillation of the clock genes ARNTL/BMAL1, PER1, PER2 and NR1D1 in the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) of the brain and in liver and of the genes involved in glucose and lipid metabolism in the liver.

Product Notes

The NGFR ngfr (Catalog #AAA206257) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Baculovirus and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The tag for this protein is His-tag. AAA Biotech's Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 16 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NGFR ngfr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: KEACPTGLYT HSGECCKACN LGEGVAQPCG ANQTVCEPCL DSVTFSDVVS ATEPCKPCTE CVGLQSMSAP CVEADDAVCR CAYGYYQDET TGRCEACRVC EAGSGLVFSC QDKQNTVCEE CPDGTYSDEA NHVDPCLPCT VCEDTERQLR ECTRWADAEC EEIPGRWITR STPPEGSDST APSTQEPEAP PEQDLIASTV AGVVTTVMGS SQPVVTRGTT DNLEHHHHHH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 16, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
