Uniprot Description

MYH14: Cellular myosin that appears to play a role in cytokinesis, cell shape, and specialized functions such as secretion and capping. Myosin is a hexameric protein that consists of 2 heavy chain subunits (MHC), 2 alkali light chain subunits (MLC) and 2 regulatory light chain subunits (MLC-2). High levels of expression are found in small intestine, colon and skeletal muscle. Expression is low in organs composed mainly of smooth muscle, such as aorta, uterus and urinary bladder. No detectable expression is found in thymus, spleen, placenta and lymphocytes. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Motor

Cellular Component: growth cone; membrane; axon; myosin II complex; cytoplasm; stress fiber; actomyosin; myosin complex; myelin sheath

Molecular Function: calmodulin binding; microfilament motor activity; actin filament binding; nucleotide binding; motor activity; actin-dependent ATPase activity; actin binding; ATP binding

Biological Process: skeletal muscle contraction; regulation of cell shape; skeletal muscle development; sensory perception of sound; metabolic process; actin filament-based movement; actomyosin structure organization and biogenesis; generation of action potential

Product Notes

The Mouse MYH14 myh14 (Catalog #AAA9341804) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9341804 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse MYH14. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "myosin, heavy chain 14, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
