Monkey Macrophage stimulating protein ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: MSP ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing an anti-MSP antibody and an MSP-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with MSP-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the MSP concentration since MSP from samples and MSP-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-MSP antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by MSP from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind MSP-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The MSP concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene contains four kringle domains and a serine protease domain, similar to that found in hepatic growth factor. Despite the presence of the serine protease domain, the encoded protein may not have any proteolytic activity. The receptor for this protein is RON tyrosine kinase, which upon activation stimulates ciliary motility of ciliated epithelial lung cells. This protein is secreted and cleaved to form an alpha chain and a beta chain bridged by disulfide bonds. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2010]
Uniprot Description
MSP: Probably has no proteolytic activity, since crucial characteristic of serine proteases catalytic sites are not conserved. Belongs to the peptidase S1 family. Plasminogen subfamily.
Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3p21
Molecular Function: serine-type endopeptidase activity
Biological Process: sperm motility; spermatogenesis; proteolysis; embryo implantation

Product Notes
The Monkey MSP mst1 (Catalog #AAA750396) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA750396 ELISA Kit recognizes Monkey MSP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Macrophage stimulating protein, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
