Related Product Information for ZBP1 elisa kit
Principle of the assay: ZBP ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-ZBP antibody and an ZBP-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with ZBP-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the ZBP concentration since ZBP from samples and ZBP-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-ZBP antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by ZBP from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind ZBP-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The ZBP concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a Z-DNA binding protein. The encoded protein plays a role in the innate immune response by binding to foreign DNA and inducing type-I interferon production. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]

Uniprot Description

ZBP1: Participates in the detection by the host's innate immune system of DNA from viral, bacterial or even host origin. Plays a role in host defense against tumors and pathogens. Acts as a cytoplasmic DNA sensor which, when activated, induces the recruitment of TBK1 and IRF3 to its C-terminal region and activates the downstream interferon regulatory factor (IRF) and NF-kappa B transcription factors, leading to type-I interferon production. ZBP1-induced NF-kappaB activation probably involves the recruitment of the RHIM containing kinases RIPK1 and RIPK3. 5 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Mouse ZBP1 zbp1 (Catalog #AAA732283) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA732283 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse ZBP1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Z-DNA binding protein 1 (ZBP1), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
