Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for UST2 elisa kit
This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific to Urotensin 2 (UST2) has been pre-coated onto a microplate. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between biotin labeled Urotensin 2 (UST2) and unlabeled Urotensin 2 (UST2) (Standards or samples) with the pre-coated antibody specific to Urotensin 2 (UST2). After incubation the unbound conjugate is washed off. Next, avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. The amount of bound HRP conjugate is reverse proportional to the concentration of Urotensin 2 (UST2) in the sample. After addition of the substrate solution, the intensity of color developed is reverse proportional to the concentration of Urotensin 2 (UST2) in the sample.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a mature peptide that is an active cyclic heptapeptide absolutely conserved from lamprey to human. The active peptide acts as a vasoconstrictor and is expressed only in brain tissue. Despite the gene family name similarity, this gene is not homologous to urocortin, a member of the sauvagine/corticotropin-releasing factor/urotensin I family. Most of the proprotein is cleaved to make the mature peptide. Transcript variants encoding different preproprotein isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

UTS2: Highly potent vasoconstrictor. Belongs to the urotensin-2 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Mouse UST2 uts2 (Catalog #AAA2023597) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2023597 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse UST2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Urotensin 2 (UST2), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
