Related Product Information for TUBb elisa kit
Intended Uses: This ELISA kit applies to the in vitro quantitative determination of Mouse TUBb concentrations in serum, plasma and other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This ELISA kit uses Sandwich-ELISA as the method. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to TUBb. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for TUBb and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate is added to each micro plate well successively and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain TUBb, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm +/- 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of TUBb. You can calculate the concentration of TUBb in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

NCBI Description

Microtubules, key participants in processes such as mitosis and intracellular transport, are composed of heterodimers of alpha- and beta-tubulins. The protein encoded by this gene is a beta-tubulin. Defects in this gene are associated with complex cortical dysplasia with other brain malformations-5. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2015]

Uniprot Description

TUBB2A: Tubulin is the major constituent of microtubules. It binds two moles of GTP, one at an exchangeable site on the beta chain and one at a non-exchangeable site on the alpha-chain. Belongs to the tubulin family.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Cytoskeletal

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p25

Cellular Component: microtubule; cytoplasm; nucleus; vesicle

Molecular Function: GTPase activity; GTP binding; structural constituent of cytoskeleton

Biological Process: protein polymerization; 'de novo' posttranslational protein folding; cellular protein metabolic process; protein folding; transmembrane transport; microtubule-based process

Disease: Cortical Dysplasia, Complex, With Other Brain Malformations 5

Product Notes

The Mouse TUBb tubb2a (Catalog #AAA2507255) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2507255 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse TUBb. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TUBb, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
