Mouse Receptor-type tyrosine-protein phosphatase U (PTPRU) ELISA Kit
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. PTPs are known to be signaling molecules that regulate a variety of cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation. This PTP possesses an extracellular region, a single transmembrane region, and two tandem intracellular catalytic domains, and thus represents a receptor-type PTP. The extracellular region contains a meprin-A5 antigen-PTP (MAM) domain, Ig-like and fibronectin type III-like repeats. This PTP was thought to play roles in cell-cell recognition and adhesion. Studies of the similar gene in mice suggested the role of this PTP in early neural development. The expression of this gene was reported to be regulated by phorbol myristate acetate (PMA) or calcium ionophore in Jurkat T lymphoma cells. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been reported. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2010]
Uniprot Description
PTPRU: Tyrosine-protein phosphatase which dephosphorylates CTNNB1. Regulates CTNNB1 function both in cell adhesion and signaling. May function in cell proliferation and migration and play a role in the maintenance of epithelial integrity. May play a role in megakaryocytopoiesis. Belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family. Receptor class 2B subfamily. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; EC 3.1.3.48; Receptor protein phosphatase, tyrosine; Membrane protein, integral
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p35.3
Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; plasma membrane; intercellular junction

Product Notes
The Mouse PTPRU ptpru (Catalog #AAA7228358) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7228358 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse PTPRU. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Receptor-type tyrosine-protein phosphatase U (PTPRU), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
