Mouse Myostatin (MSTN) Mini Samples ELISA Kit
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a secreted ligand of the TGF-beta (transforming growth factor-beta) superfamily of proteins. Ligands of this family bind various TGF-beta receptors leading to recruitment and activation of SMAD family transcription factors that regulate gene expression. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate each subunit of the disulfide-linked homodimer. This protein negatively regulates skeletal muscle cell proliferation and differentiation. Homozygous knockout mice for this gene exhibit increased muscle mass and bone density, and reduced adiposity. Uniprot Description
MSTN: Acts specifically as a negative regulator of skeletal muscle growth. Defects in MSTN are the cause of muscle hypertrophy (MSLHP). MSLHP is a condition characterized by increased muscle bulk and strength. Affected individuals are exceptionally strong. Belongs to the TGF-beta family.

Product Notes
The Mouse MSTN mstn (Catalog #AAA2087869) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2087869 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse MSTN. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Myostatin (MSTN), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
