Uniprot Description

GUCY2C: Receptor for the E.coli heat-stable enterotoxin (E.coli enterotoxin markedly stimulates the accumulation of cGMP in mammalian cells expressing GC-C). Also activated by the endogenous peptide guanylin. Defects in GUCY2C are the cause of diarrhea type 6 (DIAR6). A relatively mild, early-onset chronic diarrhea that may be associated with increased susceptibility to inflammatory bowel disease, small-bowel obstruction, and esophagitis. Defects in GUCY2C are a cause of meconium ileus (MECIL). A condition characterized by a intestinal obstruction due to inspissated meconium in the distal ileum and cecum, which develops in utero and presents shortly after birth as a failure to pass meconium. Meconium ileus is a known clinical manifestation of cystic fibrosis. Belongs to the adenylyl cyclase class-4/guanylyl cyclase family.

Product Notes

The Mouse GUCY2C gucy2c (Catalog #AAA7221013) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7221013 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse GUCY2C. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Heat-stable enterotoxin receptor (GUCY2C), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
