Related Product Information for CTRC elisa kit
Intended Uses: This sandwich kit is for the accurate quantitative detection of Mouse Chymotrypsin-C (also known as CTRC) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernates, Ascites, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids.

Principle of the Assay: This kit is an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). The plate has been pre-coated with Mouse CTRC antibody. CTRC present in the sample is added and binds to antibodies coated on the wells. And then biotinylated Mouse CTRC Antibody is added and binds to CTRC in the sample. Then Streptavidin-HRP is added and binds to the Biotinylated CTRC antibody. After incubation unbound Streptavidin-HRP is washed away during a washing step. Substrate solution is then added and color develops in proportion to the amount of Mouse CTRC. The reaction is terminated by addition of acidic stop solution and absorbance is measured at 450 nm.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the peptidase S1 family. The encoded protein is a serum calcium-decreasing factor that has chymotrypsin-like protease activity. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been observed, but their full-length nature has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

CTRC: Has chymotrypsin-type protease activity and hypocalcemic activity. Genetic variations in CTRC can predispose to chronic pancreatitis by diminishing its protective trypsin-degrading activity. Belongs to the peptidase S1 family. Elastase subfamily.

Protein type: Protease; EC 3.4.21.2

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1p36.21

Molecular Function: peptidase activity; serine-type endopeptidase activity

Biological Process: proteolysis

Disease: Pancreatitis, Hereditary

Product Notes

The Mouse CTRC ctrc (Catalog #AAA1604775) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA1604775 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse CTRC. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Chymotrypsin-C, CTRC, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
