Principle of the Assay: CSH2 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a polyclonal anti-CSH2 antibody and an CSH2-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with CSH2-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the CSH2 concentration since CSH2 from samples and CSH2-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-CSH2 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by CSH2 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind CSH2-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The CSH2 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene is a member of the beta casein family. There are two types of casein protein, beta (encoded by this gene) and kappa, both of which are secreted in human milk. Beta casein is the principal protein in human milk and the primary source of essential amino acids for a suckling infant. Beta and kappa casein proteins acting together form spherical micelles which bind within them important dietary minerals, such as calcium and phosphorous. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2014]

Product Notes
The Mouse CSN2 csn2 (Catalog #AAA7229565) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7229565 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse CSN2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Beta-casein (CSN2), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
