Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for APLN elisa kit
This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific to Apelin (APLN) has been pre-coated onto a microplate. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between biotin labeled Apelin (APLN) and unlabeled Apelin (APLN) (Standards or samples) with the pre-coated antibody specific to Apelin (APLN). After incubation the unbound conjugate is washed off. Next, avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. The amount of bound HRP conjugate is reverse proportional to the concentration of Apelin (APLN) in the sample. After addition of the substrate solution, the intensity of color developed is reverse proportional to the concentration of Apelin (APLN) in the sample.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a peptide that functions as an endogenous ligand for the G protein coupled receptor APJ. The encoded protein is synthesized as a prepropeptide that is processed into biologically active C-terminal fragments. The peptide fragments activate different tissue specific signaling pathways that regulate diverse biological functions including fluid homeostasis, cardiovascular function and insulin secretion. This protein also functions as a coreceptor for the human immunodeficiency virus 1.[provided by RefSeq, Feb 2010]

Uniprot Description

apelin: Endogenous ligand for APJ, an alternative coreceptor with CD4 for HIV-1 infection. Inhibits HIV-1 entry in cells coexpressing CD4 and APJ. Apelin-36 has a greater inhibitory activity on HIV infection than other synthetic apelin derivatives. The oral intake in the colostrum and the milk could have a role in the modulation of the immune responses in neonates. May also have a role in the central control of body fluid homeostasis by influencing AVP release and drinking behavior. Belongs to the apelin family.

Product Notes

The Mouse APLN apln (Catalog #AAA2021640) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2021640 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse APLN. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Apelin (APLN), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
