Precision
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): 3 samples with low, middle and high level Insulin Like Growth Factor 2 (IGF2) were tested 20 times on one plate, respectively.
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): 3 samples with low, middle and high level Insulin Like Growth Factor 2 (IGF2) were tested on 3 different plates, 8 replicates in each plate.
CV(%) = SD/meanX100
Intra-Assay: CV<10%
Inter-Assay: CV<12%
Test Principle
The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Insulin Like Growth Factor 2 (IGF2). Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Insulin Like Growth Factor 2 (IGF2). Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the Insulin Like Growth Factor 2 (IGF2) level in the sample or standard.
Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the insulin-like growth factor (IGF) family of proteins that promote growth and development during fetal and postnatal life. It is an imprinted gene that is expressed only from the paternal allele. The encoded protein undergoes proteolytic processing to generate a mature peptide. The transgenic overexpression of this gene in mice results in prenatal overgrowth, polyhydramnios, fetal and neonatal lethality, disproportionate organ overgrowth including tongue enlargement, and skeletal abnormalities. Mice lacking the encoded protein exhibit growth deficiency. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms that may undergo similar processing to generate mature protein. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2015]

Uniprot Description

Function: The insulin-like growth factors possess growth-promoting activity. In vitro, they are potent mitogens for cultured cells. IGF-II is influenced by placental lactogen and may play a role in fetal development. Ref.7 Ref.8Preptin undergoes glucose-mediated co-secretion with insulin, and acts as physiological amplifier of glucose-mediated insulin secretion. Exhibits osteogenic properties by increasing osteoblast mitogenic activity through phosphoactivation of MAPK1 and MAPK3. Ref.7 Ref.8

Subcellular location: Secreted.

Developmental stage: Low levels of expression during myoblast proliferation. Levels rise rapidly during myoblast differentiation and then decrease.

Sequence similarities: Belongs to the insulin family.

Product Notes

The Mouse IGF2 igf2 (Catalog #AAA2708573) is a CLIA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2708573 CLIA Kit recognizes Mouse IGF2. AAA Biotech's Insulin Like Growth Factor 2 (IGF2) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Chemiluminescence Immunoassay (CLIA). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the IGF2 igf2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Insulin Like Growth Factor 2 (IGF2), CLIA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
