Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at-20 degree C or colder. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at-20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Related Product Information for anti-XRCC1 antibody
X-Ray Repair Cross Complementing (XRCC1) plays a role in excision repair of DNA after ionizing irradiation. XRCC1 binds to DNA ligase III through the C-terminal 96 amino acids and to DNA polymerase beta through the N-terminal half.. In testis XRCC1 is expressed at high levels. Cells with a mutation of this gene exhibit decreased single strand break repair and reduced recombination repair. They show increased double strand breaks, and sister chromatid exchange is increased up to 10-fold. The XRCC1 might serve as a scaffold protein during base excision-repair.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is involved in the efficient repair of DNA single-strand breaks formed by exposure to ionizing radiation and alkylating agents. This protein interacts with DNA ligase III, polymerase beta and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase to participate in the base excision repair pathway. It may play a role in DNA processing during meiogenesis and recombination in germ cells. A rare microsatellite polymorphism in this gene is associated with cancer in patients of varying radiosensitivity. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

XRCC1: Corrects defective DNA strand-break repair and sister chromatid exchange following treatment with ionizing radiation and alkylating agents. Homodimer. Interacts with polynucleotide kinase (PNK), DNA polymerase-beta (POLB) and DNA ligase III (LIG3). Interacts with APTX and APLF. Interacts with APEX1; the interaction is induced by SIRT1 and increases with the acetylated form of APEX1.

Product Notes

The XRCC1 xrcc1 (Catalog #AAA600757) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The XRCC1 (X-Ray Repair Cross Complementing Protein1) (BSA & Azide Free) reacts with Human, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's XRCC1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Dilution: Immunoprecipitation (Native verified) (Use Protein A) (Ab 2ug/mg protein lysate) Western Blotting (Ab 1-2ug/ml for 2hrs at RT) Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin) (1-2ug/ml for 30 min at RT; is better) * [Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.] The optimal dilution for a specific application should be determined by the investigator. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the XRCC1 xrcc1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Not determined. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "XRCC1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
