Related Product Information for anti-VAX2 antibody
VAX2 gene was named based on its high seqeunce similarity to VAX1 gene and is almost exclusively expressed in the ventral portion of the retina during development. It may play an important role in morphogenetic processes underlying the correct development of the eye, particularly in the establishment of a correct dorsoventral pattern. NCBI Description

This gene encodes a homeobox protein and is almost exclusively expressed in the ventral portion of the retina during development. In mouse studies, this gene was found to be required for the correct formation of the optic fissure and other aspects of retinal development. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2008]

Uniprot Description

VAX2: Transcription factor that may function in dorsoventral specification of the forebrain. Regulates the expression of Wnt signaling antagonists including the expression of a truncated TCF7L2 isoform that cannot bind CTNNB1 and acts therefore as a potent dominant-negative Wnt antagonist. Plays a crucial role in eye development and, in particular, in the specification of the ventral optic vesicle. May be a regulator of axial polarization in the retina. Belongs to the EMX homeobox family.

Protein type: Transcription factor; DNA-binding

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p13

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; nucleus

Molecular Function: chromatin DNA binding; sequence-specific DNA binding; transcription factor activity

Biological Process: Wnt receptor signaling pathway; axonogenesis; visual perception; transcription, DNA-dependent; retina development in camera-type eye; embryonic eye morphogenesis; forebrain development; ectoderm development; dorsal/ventral axis specification; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter

Product Notes

The VAX2 vax2 (Catalog #AAA120094) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Mouse monoclonal antibody Anti-Human VAX2 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's VAX2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Dot Blot (DB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Western Blot (WB). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VAX2 vax2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "VAX2, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
