Related Product Information for anti-VAMP8 antibody
SNAREs, Soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor- attachment protein receptors, are essential proteins for fusion of cellular membranes. SNAREs localized on opposing membranes assemble to form a trans-SNARE complex, an extended, parallel four alpha-helical bundle that drives membrane fusion. VAMP8 is a SNARE involved in autophagy through the direct control of autophagosome membrane fusion with the lysososome membrane. Also required for dense-granule secretion in platelets. Plays also a role in regulated enzyme secretion in pancreatic acinar cells. Involved in the abscission of the midbody during cell division, which leads to completely separate daughter cells. Involved in the homotypic fusion of early and late endosomes.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes an integral membrane protein that belongs to the synaptobrevin/vesicle-associated membrane protein subfamily of soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptors (SNAREs). The encoded protein is involved in the fusion of synaptic vesicles with the presynaptic membrane.[provided by RefSeq, Jun 2010]

Uniprot Description

VAMP8: Involved in the targeting and/or fusion of transport vesicles to their target membrane. Involved for dense-granule secretion in platelets. Plays a role in regulated enzyme secretion in pancreatic acinar cells. Involved in the abscission of the midbody during cell division, which leads to completely separate daughter cells. Involved in the homotypic fusion of early and late endosomes. Belongs to the synaptobrevin family.

Product Notes

The VAMP8 vamp8 (Catalog #AAA9200121) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The VAMP8 Antibody (N-term) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's VAMP8 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). IHC~~1:25 WB~~1:1000-1:2000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the VAMP8 vamp8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "VAMP8, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
