Related Product Information for anti-TdT antibody
Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT) is a template-independent DNA polymerase that catalyzes the addition of deoxynucleotides to the 3'-hydroxyl terminus of oligonucleotide primers. It is expressed in restricted populations of normal and malignant pre-B and pre-T lymphocytes during early differentiation, where it generates antigen receptor diversity by synthesizing non-germ line elements (N-regions) at the junctions of rearranged Ig heavy chain and T cell receptor gene segments. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms of this protein have been described.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the DNA polymerase type-X family and encodes a template-independent DNA polymerase that catalyzes the addition of deoxynucleotides to the 3'-hydroxyl terminus of oligonucleotide primers. In vivo, the encoded protein is expressed in a restricted population of normal and malignant pre-B and pre-T lymphocytes during early differentiation, where it generates antigen receptor diversity by synthesizing non-germ line elements (N-regions) at the junctions of rearranged Ig heavy chain and T cell receptor gene segments. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms of this gene have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

DNTT: Template-independent DNA polymerase which catalyzes the random addition of deoxynucleoside 5'-triphosphate to the 3'-end of a DNA initiator. One of the in vivo functions of this enzyme is the addition of nucleotides at the junction (N region) of rearranged Ig heavy chain and T-cell receptor gene segments during the maturation of B- and T-cells. Belongs to the DNA polymerase type-X family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Transferase; EC 2.7.7.31

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q23-q24

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm

Molecular Function: DNA binding; metal ion binding; DNA nucleotidylexotransferase activity; DNA-directed DNA polymerase activity

Biological Process: DNA modification

Product Notes

The TdT dntt (Catalog #AAA1801819) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-Hu TdT Purified reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TdT can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) (QC tested), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P), ELISA (EIA). FC/FACS: Recommended dilution: 1-4ug/ml. Intracellular staining. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TdT dntt for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TdT, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
