Mouse TATA - Binding Protein Monoclonal Antibody | anti-Tbp antibody
TATA-Binding Protein Monoclonal Antibody
This antibody recognizes an epitope within amino acid residues 1-20 of human, mouse and rat TBP. It does not react with TBP from Drosophila, yeast, silk worm, or Xenopus. The specific epitope for this antibody is accessible when the C-terminal domain of TBP is removed or when TBP is complexed with DNA.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
Function: General transcription factor that functions at the core of the DNA-binding multiprotein factor TFIID. Binding of TFIID to the TATA box is the initial transcriptional step of the pre-initiation complex (PIC), playing a role in the activation of eukaryotic genes transcribed by RNA polymerase II. Ref.1 Ref.2 Ref.8
Subunit structure: Belongs to the TFIID complex which is composed of TATA binding protein (Tbp) and a number of TBP-associated factors (Tafs). Binds DNA as monomer. Interacts with TFIIA-L heterotrimer. Interacts with Taf1, Taf2, Taf5 and Taf12. Ref.8 Ref.9 Ref.10 Ref.11 Ref.12
Subcellular location: Nucleus.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the TBP family.

Product Notes
The Tbp tbp (Catalog #AAA190431) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's TATA - Binding Protein can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation. This antibody may be used in Western Blot and electrophoretic mobility (gel shift) assays to detect mammalian TBP. It may also be used to immunoprecipitate a truncated TBP molecule containing only the N-terminal domain. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Tbp tbp for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TATA - Binding Protein, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
