Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for anti-SPTBN1 antibody
a-synuclein (amino acids 119-140), an acidic neuronal protein of 140 amino acids, is extremely heat-resistant and is natively unfolded with an extended structure primarily composed of random coils. a-synuclein has been suggested to be implicated in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease and related neurodegenerative disorders, and more recently, to be an important regulatory component of vesicular transport in neuronal cells. Specially, the non-AB component of amyloid plaques is a highly amyloidogenic peptide consisting of 35 amino acids which was first identified associated with senile plaques in the Alzheimer's disease brain.

NCBI Description

Spectrin is an actin crosslinking and molecular scaffold protein that links the plasma membrane to the actin cytoskeleton, and functions in the determination of cell shape, arrangement of transmembrane proteins, and organization of organelles. It is composed of two antiparallel dimers of alpha- and beta- subunits. This gene is one member of a family of beta-spectrin genes. The encoded protein contains an N-terminal actin-binding domain, and 17 spectrin repeats which are involved in dimer formation. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

SPTBN1: Fodrin, which seems to be involved in secretion, interacts with calmodulin in a calcium-dependent manner and is thus candidate for the calcium-dependent movement of the cytoskeleton at the membrane. Belongs to the spectrin family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Cytoskeletal; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2p21

Cellular Component: spectrin; protein complex; cytoplasm; nucleolus; M band; axolemma; cytosol

Molecular Function: calmodulin binding; protein binding; structural constituent of cytoskeleton; protein complex binding; phospholipid binding; ankyrin binding; actin binding

Biological Process: axon guidance; cytokinesis after mitosis; plasma membrane organization and biogenesis; actin filament capping; Golgi to plasma membrane protein transport; common-partner SMAD protein phosphorylation; SMAD protein nuclear translocation

Product Notes

The SPTBN1 sptbn1 (Catalog #AAA632095) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Synuclein, alpha, beta reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Synuclein, alpha, beta can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SPTBN1 sptbn1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Synuclein, alpha, beta, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
