Related Product Information for anti-SOS1 antibody
Mouse anti Human SOS1 antibody, clone SOS-1 recognizes SOS1 (son of sevenless homolog 1), a ubiquitously expressed 1333 amino acid ~150kDa intracellular protein and bifunctional guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF), which plays a role in growth and differentiation signalling pathways and in actin reorganization, by acting as a regulator of Ras and Rac/Rho GTPases. Mutations in the SOS1 gene are responsible for the rare oral overgrowth condition known as gingival fibromatosis 1 (Hart et al. 2002), and also the cause of the relatively common autosomal dominant disorder Noonan syndrome type 4 (NS4), characterized by short stature, congenital heart malformation, bleeding diathesis and distinctive facial features (Hanna et al. 2009).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor for RAS proteins, membrane proteins that bind guanine nucleotides and participate in signal transduction pathways. GTP binding activates and GTP hydrolysis inactivates RAS proteins. The product of this gene may regulate RAS proteins by facilitating the exchange of GTP for GDP. Mutations in this gene are associated with gingival fibromatosis 1 and Noonan syndrome type 4. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

SOS1: a guanine nucleotide exchange factor that activates Ras by catalyzing the exchange of bound GDP for GTP. Interacts with GRB2, NCK, and other adapter proteins. Plays an important role in signaling pathways leading from the G-protein- coupled receptors and receptor tyrosine kinases to MAPK/ERK.

Product Notes

The SOS1 sos1 (Catalog #AAA217406) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MOUSE ANTI SOS1 reacts with Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SOS1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB). Western Blot: This item detects a band of approximately 150kDa in K562 and RAJI human cell lysates under reducing conditions. Western Blotting: Maximum Dilution: 1.0ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SOS1 sos1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SOS1, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
