Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for anti-PGR antibody
Progesterone Receptor (PR) is phosphorylated on multiple serine residues located in the N-terminal domain and in the hinge region between the DNA and steroid binding domains. The activity of PR can be regulated by its phosphorylation by cyclin-A/Cdk2, casein kinase II, and MAP kinase. Individual sites such as Ser190 enhance transcriptional activity, while Ser294 seem to be a site of convergence and regulation by crosstalk with other signaling pathways. Of the seven identified serine residues on which the human PR (hPR) is phosphorylated, four (Ser81, Ser162, Ser190 and Ser400) are basally phosphorylated and exhibit a rapid increase in phosphorylation in response to treatment with hormone. The other three sites (Ser102, Ser294 and Ser345) are hormone-inducible and reach maximal phosphorylation within 1-2 hours of treatment.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the steroid receptor superfamily. The encoded protein mediates the physiological effects of progesterone, which plays a central role in reproductive events associated with the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy. This gene uses two distinct promotors and translation start sites in the first exon to produce two isoforms, A and B. The two isoforms are identical except for the additional 165 amino acids found in the N-terminus of isoform B and mediate their own response genes and physiologic effects with little overlap. Product Notes

The PGR pgr (Catalog #AAA631720) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Progesterone Receptor, phosphorylated (Ser190) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Progesterone Receptor can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Dilution: Immunohistochemistry: 1:1000 Western Blot: 1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PGR pgr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Progesterone Receptor, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
