Human anti-Human PRMT5 Monoclonal Antibody | anti-PRMT5 antibody
Anti-PRMT5 [RAB-C136]
Immunofluorescence (IF)
(Immunofluorescence staining of fixed HeLa cells with anti-PRMT5 antibody RAB-C136 (MBS488810) Immunofluorescence analysis of paraformaldehyde fixed HeLa cells on Shi-fix coverslips stained with the chimeric rabbit IgG version of RAB-C136 (MBS488811) at 10ug/ml for 1h followed by Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody (2ug/ml), showing membrane staining. The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue). Panels show from left-right, top-bottom MBS488811, DAPI, merged channels and an isotype control. The isotype control was an unknown specificity antibody (MBS488149) followed by staining with Alexa Fluor 488 secondary antibody.)
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS)
(Flow cytometry using the anti-PRMT5 antibody RAB-C136 (MBS488810). HeLa cells were fixed using 2% PFA and stained with anti-unknown specificity antibody (MBS488149; isotype control, black line) or the rabbit IgG1 version of RAB-C136 (MBS488811, blue line) at a dilution of 1:100 for 1h at RT. After washing, the bound antibody was detected using a goat anti-rabbit IgG AlexaFluor 488 antibody at a dilution of 1:1000 and cells analyzed using a FACSCanto flow-cytometer.)
This antibody was obtained by recombinant antibody (rAb) phage display recognizing PRMT5 protein under non-denaturing conditions.

NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes an enzyme that belongs to the methyltransferase family. The encoded protein catalyzes the transfer of methyl groups to the amino acid arginine, in target proteins that include histones, transcriptional elongation factors and the tumor suppressor p53. This gene plays a role in several cellular processes, including transcriptional regulation, and the assembly of small nuclear ribonucleoproteins. A pseudogene of this gene has been defined on chromosome 4. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]
Uniprot Description
PRMT5: an ubiquitous enzyme with protein methyltransferase activity. Methylates specific arginine residues in the transcription elongation factor SPT5, and the small nuclear ribonucleoproteins SNRPD1 and SNRPD3. Plays a role in the assembly of snRNP core particles. May play a role in cytokine-activated transduction pathways. Negatively regulates cyclin E1 promoter activity and cellular proliferation. May regulate the SPT5 transcriptional elongation properties. May be part of a pathway that is connected to a chloride current, possibly through cytoskeletal rearrangement. Component of the methylosome, a 20S complex that includes ICLN, SKB1 and WDR77. Component of a high molecular weight E2F-pocket protein complex, CERC (cyclin E1 repressor complex). Also interacts with Sm proteins, JAK2, SSTR1 and SPT5. Associates with SWI/SNF remodeling complexes containing SMARCA2 and SMARCA4.

The PRMT5 prmt5 (Catalog #AAA488810) is an Antibody produced from Human and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-PRMT5 [RAB-C136] reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's PRMT5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunoprecipitation-Mass Spectrometry (IP-MS), Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP). This antibody has been used and recommended for the following methods: ELISA; IF; IP-MS; ChIP. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PRMT5 prmt5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PRMT5, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
