Related Product Information for anti-PDE5A antibody
Phosphodiesterase 5A, a cGMP-specific phosphodiesterase, has been implicated in primary pulmonary hypertension, cardiac failure and erectile dysfunction. PDE5A also may function in the regulation of coronary blood flow. PDE5A is the predominant enzyme responsible for cGMP hydrolysis in trabecular smooth muscle. PDE5A activitity is inhibited by sildenafil (Viagra) and zaprinast. At least three alternatively spliced transcripts have been reported.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a cGMP-binding, cGMP-specific phosphodiesterase, a member of the cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase family. This phosphodiesterase specifically hydrolyzes cGMP to 5'-GMP. It is involved in the regulation of intracellular concentrations of cyclic nucleotides and is important for smooth muscle relaxation in the cardiovascular system. Alternative splicing of this gene results in three transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

PDE5A: a cGMP-binding, cGMP-specific phosphodiesterase, a member of the cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase family. This phosphodiesterase specifically hydrolyzes cGMP to 5'-GMP. It is involved in the regulation of intracellular concentrations of cyclic nucleotides and is important for smooth muscle relaxation in the cardiovascular system. Phosphorylation is regulated by binding of cGMP to the two allosteric sites. Sildenafil (Viagra) is a highly selective and potent inhibitor of PDE5A. Alternative splicing results in four transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms.

Product Notes

The PDE5A pde5a (Catalog #AAA6191787) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Phosphodiesterase 5A (PDE5A, cGMP-Specific 3',5'-Cyclic Phosphodiesterase, cGMP-Binding cGMP-Specific Phosphodiesterase, CGB-PDE, PDE5) (MaxLight 405) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Phosphodiesterase 5A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, FLISA, Immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blot (WB). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PDE5A pde5a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Phosphodiesterase 5A, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
