Related Product Information for anti-p16 ARC antibody
The Arp2/3 (Actin-related protein 2/3) complex consits of seven subunits, all which are actin related proteins. The complex is involved in the control of actinpolymerization and in mediating the formation of branched actin networks. p16-ARC, also known as ARPC5 (Actin-related protein 2/3 complex subunit 5) or ARC16 (Arp2/3 complex 16kDa subunit), is a 151 amino acid of the Arp2/3 complex. Thought to play a role in maintaining the intergrity of Arp2/3, p16-ARC is a substrate for MAPKAPLK-2 which, through phosphorylation of p16-ARC, may participate in Arp2/3 regulatory functions and remodeling of the Actin cytoskeleton. Two isoforms of p16-ARC exist due to alternative splicing events.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes one of seven subunits of the human Arp2/3 protein complex. The Arp2/3 protein complex has been implicated in the control of actin polymerization in cells and has been conserved through evolution. The exact role of the protein encoded by this gene, the p16 subunit, has yet to be determined. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]

Uniprot Description

Functions as component of the Arp2/3 complex which is involved in regulation of actin polymerization and together with an activating nucleation-promoting factor (NPF) mediates the formation of branched actin networks.

Product Notes

The p16 ARC arpc5 (Catalog #AAA8533685) is an Antibody and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The p16 ARC reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's p16 ARC can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, WB, Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunofluorescence (IF), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS). WB: 1:1000-1:2000 ICC: 1:50 IHC: 1:50-1:200 FC: 1:50-1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the p16 ARC arpc5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "p16 ARC, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
