Related Product Information for anti-OSTEOPROTEGERIN antibody
Mouse anti Human osteoprotegerin, clone E01-10F11, recognizes osteoprotegerin (OPG), a cytokine receptor and member of the tumour necrosis factor (TNF) receptor superfamily. The role of OPG involves it acting as a decoy receptor for the ligand of CD254 and thereby preventing its function in osteoclastogenesis. In addition to this it may act as a decoy receptor for TNF related apoptosis inducing ligand (TRAIL) (Emery et al. 1998 and Schoppet et al. 2002). The combination of these two roles allows OPG to inhibit NFkB's regulatory effects on inflammation, skeletal, and vascular systems.
OPG is highly expressed in a wide range of tissues, including adult heart, lung, liver, prostate, ovary and bone marrow. More recently a role for OPG in cardiovascular disease has emerged and it is now clinically relevant biomarker of vascular health (Bierre, 2013).

Product Notes

The OSTEOPROTEGERIN (Catalog #AAA226018) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MOUSE ANTI HUMAN OSTEOPROTEGERIN reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's OSTEOPROTEGERIN can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: Max Dilution: 1/1000 Flow Cytometry: Where this product has not been tested for use in a particular technique this does not necessarily exclude its use in such procedures. Suggested working dilutions are given as a guide only. It is recommended that the user titrates the product for use in their own system using appropriate negative/positive controls. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the OSTEOPROTEGERIN for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "OSTEOPROTEGERIN, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
