(Western Blot: Detection of Human Olig1 by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of Neuro2A mouse neuroblastoma cell line and SHSY5Y human neuroblastoma cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 0.5ug/ml of Human Olig1 Monoclonal Antibody followed by HRPconjugated AntiMouse IgG Secondary Antibody. A specific band was detected for Olig1 at ~28kD (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.)

Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degree C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Olig1 and Olig2, which have been implicated in oligodendrogenesis, are expressed in the region of the ventral ventricular zone of late embryonic spinal cord where oligodendrocyte progenitors appear. Olig3 is transiently expressed in different types of progenitors of embryonic central nervous system and then disappears in the course of development. In adult, expression of Olig3 is primarily detected in neural tissues.
